Home-Office Desk Setup Planner
Answer six quick questions and get a personalized home-office plan: the right desk type and size, chair features, monitor placement, approximate ergonomic heights based on your body height, plus lighting and cable-management advice. It's free, runs entirely in your browser, and stores nothing.
How it works
- Body-based heights. We estimate seat, desk and monitor heights from your height using common anthropometric proportions (for example, seated elbow height and eye height scale roughly with stature). Results are approximate; fine-tune to your own body.
- Widely cited ergonomic guidelines. Elbows at about 90°, forearms roughly parallel to the floor, feet flat, the top of the screen at or slightly below eye level, and the screen about an arm's length away (roughly 50–75 cm / 20–30 in).
- Your space, work and budget. Room size sets desk width and type, work type and monitor count set depth and arm choice, and pain points add targeted fixes.
- Gear checklist. Each recommendation names a product category with a link to search options on Amazon so you can compare current choices yourself.
Quick ergonomic rules of thumb
- Sit with hips slightly higher than or level with your knees and your lower back supported.
- Keep wrists neutral (straight) while typing; keep the keyboard and mouse close together.
- Light the room evenly, and keep windows to the side of your screen to cut glare.
- Change position often. Alternating between sitting and standing helps more than any single "perfect" posture.
